Closet post

Hello there! I know this lovely girl from Sweden, and we talk a lot about our frills. She wanted to see my closet, and since my email hated me, it will go here!!!

These are my hair accessories....most of them at least :) not including mini hats and bigger Alice head bows

My jewelry for lolita, this is most of it, some of it happens to be packed/ MIA

SKIRTS

A poison sugar skirt :) Its really heavy, but i like it :)

This is one of my homemade skirts, it isnt A-line or cupcake shaped, kind of inbetween, but it looks really nice

This is my other home made skirt, I really like this one. It was my first really good sewing project. It is cupcake. I love it because it is simple and sweet

My last skirt, and Bodyline piece. I love it, although it IS a bit short. too bad Im not the height of an Asian

BLOUSES

An off brand blouse. I got it second hand so I dont know what exactly it is from, the tag is unrecognizable either.

My only brand. A BtSSB blouse <3

JSK's/OP's

My first piece. Sorry the picture was bad, honestly I was having a rough time getting a good one ><

This is probably my favorite piece, I really love it and it fits so snug <3

I really love this bodyline piece. If fits real nice, however the sleeves arent at all adjustable and squeeze my arms a bit...

The most recent addition to my collection. I absolutely ADORE this piece!
I get so many compliments for it #I<3SAILOR

And finally, my sweet/pirate hybrid piece...coordinating it...is really hard to be honest

Thats all I will show you all today! I will get into accessories at a later time :)

Poison Sugar Reveiw!!!

Hello there! I know I said the next post(i.e this post) would be about Bodyline's name and their history, however, I have a reveiw! So I am sure this is much more exciting! So I bought this skirt two months ago, however it has been hanging vigil in my closset, since it has been my first real first-hand buy, I figured I should reveiw it!
In case you all didnt know, Poison Sugar is an Indie lolita brand located in my state ( http://www.etsy.com/shop/thepoisonsugar ) I really enjoy the things she has made. I dont own much though, just what I am about to show you. She is an amazing and talanted sewer, I really admire her.  I also was able to talk to her a little bit at the last con <3

So, first things first :The skirt
This is the skirt I got, I really like it. It is really cute.The only problem I have with it is, the top layer, its fabric is a bit heavy compared to the rest of the skirt and it really weighs down on my petticoat. Other than that it is really cute and simple. Probably the simplist in my closset!
 This is the lace used across the skirt. It is sooooo cute! It was a great choice I think. The lace is only stitched on at the top so the bottem of the lace can be a bit flip-floppy. It is still really well done.

The print on the bottom! Aye, it is sooo cute! That is really my thing! I love suits, all of them, cards, and Alice in Wonderland! It is so cute!!!!!! That is my weak spot, this kind of stuff, this is honestly the main reason I bought the skirt, this little bit! If only I had more money, then you would be seeing A LOT more than this, haha

Then there is this, I think it really isnt worth my time, I dont like it. Thankfully it is detatcheable. In my opinion it looks a bit weird, and it doesnt really go with the theme I connect with the dress. I have taken it off and I plan to give it to a friend. Also the construction on this, it was iffy. The ribbon looks like it was sewn on on the back, however, it is glued on the front and if it gets tugged a little bit, it begins to come off.

Now, for worn pictures!!!
After OneHundred Fifty tries, I finally found a spot in which I could take a picture. Sorry my room is a wreck, I was throwing things everywhere to find a spot!!!I was starting to get mad xD
Most the rest of them turned out like this:

OVerall Reveiw

Price :5 /5
It was only $40 and I really love the skirt
Construction: 4/5
There was a few misshaps, but other than that it was fantastic!
Design: 4/5
It was so cute, but I really couldnt stand that dog!

So, overall, I am very happy with my purchase. I highly reccoment Poison Sugar, especially when it comes from indie brands. She does such a great job at what she does and her stuff really deserves to be admired. She really loves the fashion and it shows through her amazing work when sewing lolita!!

That is all for today, thanks for reading <3

Hey all~ I apologize for being so bad at updating sometimes. But I am really trying my best, for some reason I am always more busy over the summer... that isnt much of a good thing. Gosh, just when I though I could do all this stuff over the summer, I end up having tons on my plate. Anyways, I have a new project in my head. It will be beautiful, if I do it right. Sigh, always seems to be that way...
Anyways, I went out of town for two weeks, and I come back to learn that replica's have been banned on the Comm sales. Which isnt a particularly bad thing, but I really do find replicas a helpful alternative. I am sure there are other places to buy replica's though. That being said, I also heard that Oo Jia was stopping doing replica's...which actually makes me sad. I was really hoping she would do my DreamDress eventually...which is actually really unlikely because my Dream wasnt very popular...(Lotta 2006 IW). But I can still dream, right? But when I get the money, I swear, I will go on the comm sales and buy my dream dress, promise!!!
So for the next con the theme for the tea party is sailor/pirate. Some of my favorite styles, so this gives me an excuse to get a Sailor dress!!!! I am sooooo happy! It really made my day, I am probably going to get a BL dress, but it is SOO cute!
Speaking of Bodyline, are any of you particularly familiar with their reputation? It is quite quir! So horrible and mean, and a bit scary. A few months ago a BL model wanted to quit, it ended up being so bad she left the country, THEN they wouldnt send her her stuff. The girls in the lolita community really felt for her. It is really crazy, actaully I think my next post will go more into it. That will be an interesting post. Just wait another few weeks everyone...wait for the Bodyline reveiw!!!
So back to the replica topic(Just remembered something). What does this mean for replica manufactures? They are now forced to do their buisness on less trustworthy sites, such as Ebay. Not saying that there arent trustworthy people on Ebay, but honestly, I trust the comm sales more, because everyone there feels your pain when something goes wrong. Everyone understands that money you put into it, so EVERYONE tries to help watch out for people who are trying to steal your money. Plus most times, you get updated pictures and a lovely lady selling the peice willing to answer any questions. Most everyone there is very understanding...Goodness, I didnt mean for that to go so off topic. I also came across information that Oo Jia was going to get commision fabric.I think that would be nice, Oo Jia has a good reputation, and, if any of you knew, she also helps people with shipping TaoBao, and apparently her rates are good. So, she will keep her buisness going, but it is going to have a slightly different twist to it. I really can not wait to see what she does next!

Here is a picture of some of the girls in our lovely community~ There was a tea party two months ago that went very well, I can not wait for the next one right after my birthday, which, in fact. I share with Hatsune Miku! I am at the end, at the very left, to my right is my lovely lolita friend. The other four I had just met in person! They were such a joy to be with! They hardly cared that I was much younger than them! They were so nice and encouraging and afterwards they were willing to talk and take pictures with us! It was so much fun!!!

That is all for today <3 I am going to try to post tomorrow about Bodyline!! And some other fun stuff. Actually I was thinking of starting a "segment" something I talk about a little bit in every post. Please tell me your ideas.
It could be anything from recent loli happening to tutorials! I will try my very best to make as many as I can happen!

Cinco de Mayo~

Heya~ Its me again <3 Happy Cinco De Mayo everyone, I noticed I have over 40 page views which makes me VERY happy, but I dont have any followers :( I need to work on changing that, what do YOU guys all want to see in the blog! That is what I ask  you, and i want answers! Please!Okay, so Baby isnt coming out with prints really, which makes me sad because I am a sucker for prints. However, they DO have an AMAZING Alice style dress out:
I love it so much! The sleeves AND apron are detachable and it comes with the katyusha. The lace has a suit pattern, you know, spades, clubs, hearts and diamonds. And my, my i do love this OP it is super cute, the best thing I think Baby has out!
And the few prints Baby does have out, well, I only really enjoy one and that is: Ring Present Box and it is a JSK

This is super cute! I love the side bow and the print is to die for. This definitely makes it to my top dresses, not quite dream, but top dresses.  There is shirring in the back and the buttons are little bears! It is so cute I really like this dress, the design and the print is all super cute! Kudos to baby for making such a lovely dress! And I just love all the detail, not like detail is a characteristic of only Baby dresses, but this is just superb. Everything is very detailed at beautiful. I really love how this turned out!

So recently I finished my second Lolita skirt.  I based my pattern off of my own knowledge and this tutorial: Simple Lolita skirt by Melikestea. here is the video. Her tutorials are really good and useful. She goes through every step with you and is open to any questions you may ask. She also has a vlog, however I dont watch vlogs, but in case anyone in interested here is her Youtube page: http://www.youtube.com/user/MeLikesTea

Some other really cool tutorial people are: Evalrie- she does AMAZING accessory and make-up tutorials. I totally would recommend her if you need to learn how to make accessories fast. She does a really good job. I am about to use this tutorial (he one above) for Cassie's and my twinning coordinate. However there will be a few modifications. Instead of a square i would prefer to go triangle and instead of fruit I want to go sweets. however this will be the basic design, i might, however, decide to do square, like the tutorial, though...

And finally, paperpastels is a good tutorial person. I really want to create a felt doughnut from on of her tutorials. It would be loads of fun and I would make one for Cassie too! :) and I would love to modify it into a head piece. I think it would be super cute! I still need to get felt though! haha
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So here are some jokes because...well because haha
1- how many OTT lolita's does in take to plug in a lightbulb?....(none they are all to busy trying to put in in their hair)
2-  What did the lolita with a 28 inch waist say when she tried on the un-shirred Secret Cake Factory skirt? (pan pan desu)
3- Did you hear about that shiro-lolita who took a tour of the marshmallow factory?
Yeah, the problem is, we havn't heard back from her.
4-what a good joke well...Milanoo is a pretty good one
Hello there~
Hello~ I am Alice and this is my first, yes, my very first, lolita blog!!!! And, as the name implies, I am on the younger side of it all. My closset is very small, however I hope to expand it in the next year! That is me wearing my newest addition, Bodyline Alice JSK. I am wearing that exact coordinate to PCC this year on Saturday, so if you see me feel free to say hello!
Today I want to talk about some of of the new stuff that has been coming out in lolita, just Angelic Pretty today, but over the next few days I hope to look at all the new additions to all the popular lolita brands. The most recent addition to AP(according to the dates on the website, correct me if I am wrong) is:
Which I think looks super cute. I love the bonnet for this series and the halter JSK, but I have always been a sucker for halter JSK's, haha, like AP's Melody Doll halter JSK...omg, they just wanted to kill me didnt they?!
Another AP print that has recently come out is:
I think this OP is to die for~ This all looks super cute~ And I would love to see some accesories and a purse come out for it. Other than that little pouch, a REAL purse <3 I really am curious on what this prints name is...but...the print is cute so I suppose that is all that matters~
Now, onto the funny habbits a lolita can have and will have. If you dont do any of this you are seriously not that into lolita. Not stalking websites enough, not wanting enough, not familiar enough, however if you are new I dont blame you :)
Hear are my personal top 5:
1- you see etc and immidiately think of Emily Temple Cute
2-You have detatchable bows to attach to your everyday shoes(or maybe thats just me...)
3- You know the meaning of : The AP OP from the LP
4-if you can translate : I wanna wear my APOP with my SSTPS but my BTTSB OTKS are at my boyfriends house
5- you get a pair of jeans for $40 and think you are getting ripped off then proceed to get a dress for $275 and think its a bargain
Feel free to tell me all of your favorites!!!
So if you are new to lolita I would now like to share with you the steps to get a closset started. Deffinately not the steps I took, but the steps.
1. Start by finding a peice of lolita that you really love and would like to wear. Find it or something similar on Taobao, Bodyline, or secondhand. I do NOT suggest jumping straight into brand.
2. Decide on your budget for the rest of your accesories. I would suggest either $100-$200 because lolita can get expensive and make sure you stick to it!
3. Start by getting things that would go well with the peice you originally liked. I reccomend starting with a petticoat, and then blouse(if necessary), socks/shoes, accesories, wigs etc. Again, dont go straight into brand. You just need the basics at this point.
4. Now that you have enough for at least one coordinate you can think of other peices that might go well with what you already have. It make coordinating outfits easier, especially if you are a begginer. I personally own a lot of pink and black at this point. I am starting to get into Gothic now which will be a new subfashion of lolita in my closset :)
5. If you have any questions you can always ask me, your local lolita communtity, or EGL( http://egl.livejournal.com/ ) Everyone there is always eager to help newer lolitas!
6. Eventually you can get newer styles and as you become more comfortable with the style it is time to get some brand. Always look into the brand you are buying from before you make your first brand purchase!!
I hope this was help for some of you younger lolitas~
Until next time,
Bye Bye <3
